Well this is the last update of this journal. To those who read it, and also to those who gave their opinion, thank you so much. I'm sorry for all the drama and whining. I can't guarantee that there would be no follow-up journal in the future though, since the government is still trying to implement the stupid law :/

Fellow Indonesians... I swear, even if they DO try to block dA in the future, we're not going to sit down and watch them do it.

I wish it's just a bad April Fool hoax or something. T______T But no, this is serious. They're trying to waste our tax money (the estimated amount is about Rp 73 billions or about US$ 7.3 millions, I've heard) to make our life miserable.

...If it's true, then I'll die. As in DIE. That means I wouldn't even be able to work, as my work depends on data transfers through the internet. (Yes, I communicate with my clients through the net as well) I wouldn't be able to open dA to satisfy my art addiction. I wouldn't even be able to talk to my faraway friends, my grandmother, nor my special someone if they block the messenger too. ~~~~>_<~~~~

~JadeFireflies told me that they only intend to block age-limited sites hosted from Indonesia... But I seriously don't know at this point. This rumor scares me sick, even more than the ridiculous anti-pornography law the government try to legalize a while ago. >_< My best friend ~Ami-HR is sure that it's just another attempt to divert our attention from the alarming rise in the cost of basic necessities or something. =__=;;

Yes, fellow Indonesians... Our beloved government's finally doing it. =_=;;; They may have the right to block "improper" websites on the internet and such, since the internet is supposed to help us with "knowledge" yadda yadda...

But since I believe all of you knows that those people in the parliament are mostly exuberant idiots (mostly old men with three of four wives, and a small number of jealous old ladies), and their view of right and wrong are strongly subjective. (meaning they wouldn't care if people suffer because of that, since they're "right" and we're "wrong") Also, I doubt that ANY of them actually uses the internet. (Hah, I doubt if they can actually turn a computer on and off =__=;; )

I have nothing against their effort of blocking hacking, gambling, and such. But I'm kind of worried about their view of "porn", since in my country, most old people don't believe in the existence of "artistic nudity", they're all porn. =___= In fact, our Minister of Communication and Information stated that EVERY website with age-filtering (17+ or 18+) are DEFINITELY porn sites. (Then dA, or at least deviations with mature content will definitely be blocked T___T ) It's STUPID. COMPLETELY STUPID. >_<

I do hope this law won't affect my art & net life. If they DARE to block dA or anything of the sort... Then I'm screwed. X__x Also, my work mainly depends on data transfers through the internet. So double ugh if they screw that up too. X___x (Even though a friend of mine who's an IT professional doubts that the law would work AT ALL if it's finally applied)

Who knows, it might end up like the uber-silly anti-pornography law they tried to apply a few years back. In other words, people screamed a lot about it then it's forgotten completely after a while. Or like most other laws, applied for about a month then forgotten completely. Though it's a bit unlikely if they start blocking sites and such -_-" (Remember the anti-piracy law? >_>; You would be okay caught selling pirated stuffs if you could pay the officers. Then they would pretend not to know a thing about your illegal business)

Jenn... Seriously, if you ever get the chance to move to Singapore this year, I'll be supporting you. This country is just too... UGH for liberal idealists like us. =______=;;; And yes, I'm serious about going there with you if it's possible. >_< Nationalists might want to burn me in hell for saying this, but seriously, this country is TOTALLY HOPELESS and I have no intention of staying in a country where I'm not even allowed to truly be myself for the rest of my life. Oh, I have a message for the idiots in the government. Please top saying that the younger generation is "westernized". Being "Arabized" yourself, you have no right to say that so shut up. You narrow-minded, respect-whore smart-asses have absolutely NO RIGHT to meddle with our lives. If you truly think of this country, instead of robbing our freedom away or wasting even more national budget on useless stuffs (For instance, on dozens of huge LCD TVs for the parliament building you installed last month) kindly do something about the poor education and poverty first. Thank you, even though I truly doubt you would even think of it, even if you DO understand what's really necessary for this godforsaken country and what's not.
